(This is probably a naive question, but...) why is love so incomprehensible and impredictable?

Yeah you're so right. Then again some people marry for 50 years! I think it has to do with that we now have too many options and not enough incentive to stay married or make love work. At any signs of trouble we know we can leave and still be able to lead a good life, so why try anymore?!
