Why do us humans like to make euphemisms for things we know are not right?

Like having a one night stand. I think we all can agree that the majority of us would not want a one night stand, whether you are a Christian or not. You would want to build a relationship with the person first right or are we that impatient lol. But we then replaced that phrased with "getting laid", which with the current media seems to be a good thing. There are many examples but this is a main one.
